What is TAB 'Venue-mode'?
To encourage people to visit their physical venues, the TAB app has a 'venue-mode' option. When activated, 'venue-mode' allows you to access more, and better, promos than you will find on the desktop site.
An obvious example of this is with racing promos. On a Saturday it is common for TAB to offer refunds for 2nd or 3rd on about 18 races. However, if you have venue-mode switched on they might refund for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Plus they will extend the promo to 27 races.
As you can see, if you are able to place your bets with venue-mode switched on it is definitely worthwhile.
How to Activate Venue Mode
Venue mode is only available when the GPS location of your phone is in, or around, a TAB venue. This includes pubs and hotels that have a TAB inside, as well as their retail outlets.
Once your GPS says that you are within range of a TAB you will see an option to turn on venue-mode. You will then see a green light at the top of the app to indicate that venue mode is active.
Any bets placed when the green light is active will be eligible for the enhanced promos. You do not have to stay in the venue until the bet is settled.
GPS Spoofing to Activate Venue Mode
Technically, it is possible to trick your phone into thinking it is in a TAB venue so that you can activate venue mode. For legal reasons, this is not something that we can recommend. It would be breaching the bookies terms and conditions and could possibly cause you problems if you were to be caught. However, if you would like to learn more about it you could search Google for 'Pokemon Go Location Spoofing'. Players of that game have identified many different ways to change your GPS data.
