How does the 2up promo and software work?

2up is an early payout promo exclusive to Bet365. It is available on hundreds of soccer games each week with no maximum payout, which gives it significant earning potential.

How the promo works

If you bet on the Match Odds market of an eligible game and your team takes a two-goal lead (for example 2-0, 3-1, or 4-2), Bet365 pays you out as a winner regardless of how much time is left in the game.

Once the early payout is triggered you have two options. You can lock in a profit immediately, or if you laid the initial bet you can leave the lay bet running and hope for the other team to come back, which would result in a double payout.

How the 2up software helps

2up is a high variance promo. It is common to go through many losses before hitting a significant win, so being selective about which games you bet on is important.

The 2up software scans markets to find games with a low qualifying loss and a strong chance of triggering the promo. It presents the results in a table with the following columns:

  • QL%: The percentage of your stake you will lose if the promo does not trigger.
  • QL/Payout: The qualifying loss divided by the back odds. Higher odds produce a higher potential payout, so a higher QL is more acceptable on longer-priced selections.
  • 4+%: The probability of four or more goals in the game. This is the minimum required for a double payout (e.g. a 2-2 scoreline).
  • BTTS: The probability of both teams scoring. A requirement for a double payout.
  • Rating: An overall score combining the above factors to help you compare games. Strong options typically show a rating in the teens or above and are displayed in green. The rating does not reflect the exact probability of the promo triggering.

No Lay mode

The software includes a No Lay mode for members who prefer to back at Bet365 without placing a corresponding lay on Betfair. In No Lay mode the QL figures decrease and the ratings improve because no Betfair commission is incurred. However the variance increases significantly. In No Lay mode the displayed QL is theoretical only. In reality you could lose your full stake, so you need both the bankroll and the risk tolerance to handle that. No Lay mode also removes the possibility of a double payout.

How to approach 2up

For most members 2up should not be a priority. The high variance means it is not worth actively chasing unless you have a large bankroll and are comfortable with extended losing streaks. The best games for locking in a profit are also often played overnight Australian time, which limits that option for most members.

The most practical approach is to use 2up as an added bonus when you are already betting at Bet365 for other reasons, such as dutching against another bookmaker or placing mug bets. Betting on 2up in moderation is generally considered low risk for account sustainability. Consistent large stakes on the promo are more likely to attract attention.
