What are MBL or Minimum Bet Limits?
Minimum Bet Limits (MBL) are rules that apply to bookies for horse racing, harness racing, and greyhound racing. These rules require the operators to accept bets up to certain amounts, based on liability and the type of race. However, these rules do not apply to every race, and there are some types of bets that are exempt e.g. exchange bets and multi-bets.
The idea behind MBL is that bookies should not be able to refuse bets from sharp or winning punters. However, bookies are known to skirt the rules where convenient.
